Make Some Turns and Make a Difference

Bring a can or box of non-perishable food to Crystal Mountain and receive $10 off ANY LIFT TICKET.

There is no greater joy around the holidays than lending a hand to someone in need. Those of us at Crystal Mountain would advocate that skiing and snowboarding is a close second but why not combine the two!

From now through Sunday, January 1, 2012, skiers and snowboarders bringing a can or individual box of non-perishable food to Crystal Mountain’s lift ticket window will receive $10 off ANY LIFT TICKET* – 9am-9pm, Day, 1pm-9pm, 4-Hour Flex or Night Ticket. The food drive benefits the Benzie Area Christian Neighbors.

The Benzie Area Christian Neighbors serve over 1,200 families a year and need help keeping the shelves stocked for the winter and throughout the year. We’re happy to reward our skiers and snowboarders for their generosity in helping this great charitable organization. So grab your skis, snowboard and some food from your pantry (or grocery) and help make a difference as you make some turns during the holiday break.

Thank you!

Giving a HAND to Pure Michigan and Travel Wisconsin by donating MITTENS

Did you witness The Great Mitten Debate between Michigan and Wisconsin that played out on Facebook and Twitter last week? If not, the Washington Post and USA Today can help you get up to speed.

The good-natured back and forth about which was the true Mitten State – like there’s any question it’s Michigan – created so much buzz on social channels that even the main stream media took notice. The good folks at Pure Michigan and Travel Wisconsin are working together to put this national attention to good use. How? The two have agreed to disagree on who is the Mitten State – I think we can all agree it’s Michigan – but are partnering to encourage everyone to donate mittens to their favorite local charity this holiday season.

We at Crystal Mountain say, Bravo! And ask that the skiers and snowboarders visiting us over the holidays (through January 8) bring new or gently used mittens (or gloves) to donate at the Mountain Sports Shop located in the Lodge. Each person donating mittens will receive a 10% discount* on regular priced items within Mountain Sports at the time they make the donation. All of the mittens collected will be given to Mrs. Mullen’s Closet and the Benzie Area Christian Neighbors.

Thanks for giving us a hand to make sure everyone stays warm this winter!
