Crystal joins Garden Theater for a special showing
No charge to see the documentary, Revenge of the Electric Car.

FRANKFORT, MICH – Crystal Mountain Resort & Spa is partnering with the Garden Theater for a free showing of the documentary film, Revenge of the Electric Car, Saturday, April 14 (4pm).

Revenge of the Electric Car goes behind the closed doors of General Motors, Nissan and Silicon Valley start-up Tesla Motors to chronicle the global resurgence of electric cars. As automakers worldwide race to develop their own models of electric vehicles, Revenge, narrated by Tim Robbins, follows three major players as they seek to win the hearts and minds of the public. Directed by Chris Paine, the film is a compelling follow-up to his critically-acclaimed 2006 documentary, Who Killed the Electric Car?

Crystal Mountain has long been a strong proponent of environmental stewardship and clean, sustainable energy. It was the first resort in Michigan to install two electric vehicle charging stations, which are free to guests. CEO Jim MacInnes was among the first in northern Michigan to purchase a Chevy Volt and will take part in a Q&A following the movie. The Garden Theater has been equally committed to promoting independent film through the Frankfort Film Festival each fall. The previous and current Benzie Chamber Businesses of the Year, Crystal and the Garden join efforts for this free event with doors opening at 3:30pm (April 14). View more details about this event.

Established in 1956, Crystal Mountain is a family-owned, four-season resort recognized as one of Conde Nast Travelers 50 Best Places to Ski and Stay in North America (2011), Top 25 Golf Schools in America by Golf Magazine, Spa Magazine’s Best Midwest Spas three years running and named among the inaugural Detroit Free Press 16 Green Leaders in Michigan. Located in northwest lower-Michigan, a short drive from Sleeping Bear Dunes, the resort features downhill and cross-country skiing, Michigan Legacy Art Park, golf, alpine slide, water park, lodging, dining, countless year-round outdoor activities and kids programs, an IACC-approved conference center, weddings, real estate and Crystal Spa.
