Kermode Named VP at Crystal Mountain
Snowsports Veteran Will Head-up Retail and Recreation
THOMPSONVILLE, MICH – Steve Kermode has been promoted to Vice President of Retail and Recreation at Crystal Mountain. Kermode began his career with Crystal’s snowmaking crew in 1977 and has held various positions in the years since including Lodge Manager, Director of Sales, Director of Golf, Director of Ski Racing, snow sports instructing, and ski patrolling. He also spent time working at resorts in Colorado and throughout Michigan, including Mackinac Island.
The graduate of Central Michigan University also owned and operated KP’s, a retail shop on the grounds of Crystal Mountain until 2004 when the store was purchased by Crystal Mountain. “Steve is an outstanding and passionate skier with in-depth technical knowledge of the sport,” said Jim MacInnes, President and CEO of Crystal Mountain. “That passion, combined with his technical training in the areas of education and recreation, makes him an invaluable part of the Crystal Mountain family.”
Steve is a life-long skier and began racing while in High School in Grand Rapids. He and his wife, Dosie, live in Leelanau County.
