Snowshoe Stomp Coming to Crystal

THOMPSONVILLE, MICH – Last year, more than 6-million people in America strapped-on a pair of snowshoes and burned 400-1000 calories every hour, about twice the calories burned while walking without snowshoes at the same speed! On Saturday, February 9th, Crystal Mountain presents the perfect opportunity to join the fun and get a great workout with the annual 5K Snowshoe Stomp.

Crystal’s 5K Snowshoe Stomp takes runners on a trek through the arboreal landscape of southern Benzie County. Each of the first 150 registrants will be sporting a Snowshoe Stomp beanie, and all of the runners will spend time around the bonfire at the end of the race, celebrating with friends, family and an unlimited supply of marshmallows.

The full-length 5K Snowshoe Stomp begins at 10am, with a kids-sized Short Stomp at 11am. Awards, and the aforementioned marshmallows, will be handed out on the Kinlochen Plaza at 11:30. Top finishers of the 5K can win a Tubbs Flex ESC Snowshoe Kit and prize mug. Short Stompers get beads, participation ribbons and hot chocolate.

The cost to enter the Snowshoe Stomp is just $20 for the full 5K, $5 for the Short Stomp, and the money raised will help support the Benzie Central Cross-Country Team.
