Crystal Helps Fill Mrs. Mullen’s Closet
“Back to School On the Mountain” Collects Warm Clothes for Kids
THOMPSONVILLE, MICH – For the third year, Crystal Mountain, its friends and neighbors are coming together to help the children of Benzie County.
The goal of Mrs. Mullen’s Closet is to provide necessities to students in all 5 Benzie County Elementary Schools. It all began with Mrs. Mullen herself. Dyanne Mullen was the principal in the Hart School District. Each fall she would notice kids without enough clothes to keep them warm and dry. She decided to start collecting clothes for students in need and she kept those clothes in a closet in her office.
Her spirit continues to help kids with Back to School On the Mountain, Saturday, October 26, 2013, 6-11pm at Crystal Mountain.
The event includes a DJ, dancing, live and silent auctions, cash bar, and even a cafeteria line with proceeds benefitting students in need throughout Benzie County.
Advanced tickets are required. Tickets cost $25 per person which includes a $10 donation to Mrs. Mullen’s Closet. Tickets are available at all five Benzie County Elementary Schools or by calling Crystal Mountain at 378-2000 extension 3355.
