Former Crystal Mountain Junior Elite golfer wins prestigious KCC Invitational

July 26, 2021

THOMPSONVILLE, Mich. (July 26, 2021) — Parker Pickell and his longtime golf partner and friend, Jackson Jones, took home the victory at the 68th installment of the Kalamazoo Country Club Invitational last weekend. The Kalamazoo College athletes defeated Division 1 players and golf professionals, including former invitational champs Kevin Shugars and Andres Echavarria. Pickell and Jones put on an unforgettable performance, with Jones sinking a 40-foot putt to take them to the playoffs, and Pickell clinching the overall win with the final putt on Saturday. Pickell credits Crystal Mountain for his love for competitive golf, as he spent his teenage years playing in the Junior Elite Golf program and later working the bag drop. Looking ahead, Pickell hopes to combine his passion for golf with his business degree from Kalamazoo College.
