Thistle Pub and Grille opens Saturday
May 21, 2020
THOMPSONVILLE, Mich. (May 21, 2020) – In many ways, it will feel like a grand opening for a new restaurant.
But when Crystal Mountain opens Thistle Pub and Grille on Saturday, that feeling of eating the very best in northwestern Michigan food in a safe and inviting atmosphere will be familiar in no time.
“Our goal is to help people feel relaxed and special while they are here,” Crystal Mountain Executive Chef Jack Wenz said. “Dinner is a time to unwind and enjoy great food in a relaxing environment. A wonderful dining experience can go a long way in restoring some small sense of normalcy.”
There are modifications for dining. Seating capacity will be reduced by half and spread out. Reduced capacity seating is also be available outside in the Rose Garden. All servers will be wearing masks, and menus will be single use.
The restaurant, inside Kinlochen, will be open from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Hours will expand when the hotel opens, planned for May 29.
Thistle will also be available for takeout dining.
Golf opened at the resort about two weeks ago, so golfers may also enjoy the Plaza outside Kinlochen for food and beverages.
As services and activities begin to open around the resort, the team developed Crystal Clean, a commitment to an enhanced standard of health and safety protocols designed to prepare the resort to safely welcome back employees and guests as the Michigan economy reopens. Crystal Clean is the top priority for the resort for the health and safety of employees and guests, John Melcher, chief operating officer for Crystal Mountain, said.
Betsie River Pizza and Subs is open for takeout and delivery. Mountain Market is also open.
