Bike Benzie Tour

Cyclists ride past a stone sign on a tree-lined road.

Created by the Benzie Sunrise Rotary Club and hosted by Crystal Mountain for the last 17 years, Benzie Sunrise Rotary's Bike Benzie Tour is an annual charity ride for the benefit of area youth.

Your adventure includes a choice of three cycling routes. Whether exploring the 62-, 40-, or 30-mile routes, cyclists will enjoy the best of Benzie County’s highways and byways. These scenic journeys are fully supported with rest stops, safety monitors, and dedicated SAG teams to ensure a great riding experience.

Join us for lunch and entertainment from 11am - 2pm at the Lodge Pavilion Tent!

Routes

  • 30-Mile Course:  Travels through Manistee County. This new route is relatively flat, with a food stop in Kaleva (18-mile mark). It then returns north to Crystal Mountain.
  • 40-Mile Course:  Travels west and north to Beulah with a food stop at 20-miles. It then takes the Betsie Valley Trail to Beulah for the second food stop. The route continues up Narrow Gauge Road, Homestead Road, and eventually along Cinder Road, Thompsonville Road and Lindy Road back to Crystal Mountain.
  • 62-Mile Course:  Follows the 40-mile route, but then heads north along M22, through the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, eventually south through Honor, and back to Crystal Mountain. It will have two food stops.

Maps will be provided and routes will be patrolled by support vehicles who can assist in the case of an emergency or the need to return to Crystal Mountain. Opening times for food stops will be posted at registration.

Please Note: Parts of several routes are on the Betsie Valley Trail. Class 1 and Class 2 E-bikes are permitted on all routes.  Also, 3-1/2 miles of the Betsie Valley Trail are crushed limestone.
