Tips for a Successful Donation

  • Eat foods that are rich in iron two weeks or more.
  • Get plenty of rest
  • Drink an extra 16 oz. of water or fluids.
  • Eat a healthy meal prior to donation.
  • Avoid alcohol.
  • If you are a platelet donor, remember to not take aspirin for 2 days prior to donation.
  • Remember to bring your photo ID or two other forms of ID.
