9:30am - 10:30am: Registration
Please review the rules below prior to creating your sled. Registration is held slopeside on the Lodge Patio. All participants must be present at registration for a wristband. All participants are required to complete a waiver prior to the event, adults must sign for participants under 18 years old. Only two racers are allowed per sled. Helmets are required.  

10:45am: Creative Sled Contest
Turn a simple box into a trophy-winning wonder. We are looking for the boldest, most creative sleds built entirely from cardboard and duct tape. All sleds participating in the competition must be pre-registered. 

11am: Cardboard Classic Race
Held on the Cheers To Lou slope! Please review the rules below prior to building your cardboard sled.

Cardboard Classic Rules

Safety Requirements

  • Participants must be at least 8 years old.
  • No more than 2 racers per sled.
  • All racers MUST wear a helmet. Racers must provide their own helmet.
  • All racers in a sled must be in the same age division.

Construction Rules

  • Sleds must be constructed of standard brown cardboard (no waxed) and duct tape only!  Sleds containing any other constructive materials (wood, nails, metal, etc.) will be disqualified.
  • Sleds may be decorated and painted. However the base of the sled must be silver duct tape (not any other color) or standard brown cardboard.  Waxed cardboard, paint, glue, other tape, plastic, etc. will not be allowed.
  • Sleds must be free of sharp or pointy objects. Any sled that questions the safety of the rider or audience will be asked to alter the sled or will be disqualified.
  • All sleds will be inspected for compliance of rules at registration and then again at the start line.
  • Participants will be given the opportunity to fix a violation at registration only! If a violation is detected at the start line, the sled will be disqualified from the event.
  • Racers are responsible for sled disposal after the race.

Registration

  • Registration is Saturday, March 14 from 9:30am - 10:30am at the slope side tent, located near the Lodge deck.
  • Completed sled and all participants must be present to register for event.
  • Sled must pass an inspection to register meeting requirements as outlined above.
  • Again, sleds that still require alterations at the start line will be disqualified from the event.
  • A waiver must be on file for all participants prior to the race. Children 17 and under must have a parents signature. 

Race Rules

  • Each competition consists of an adult division (ages 13 and older) and a child division (ages 8-12).
  • Participants are responsible for their sleds at all times.
  • Racers must transport the sled up the race hill.
  • No pushing or jumping at the start line. Racers must sit in the sled.
  • Racers will compete in waves. The fastest sled in each wave will advance to the next race. Waves will continue until 3 racers remain. The top three racers will receive trophies.

Skim into Spring

Slush Cup

11am - 1:45pm: Slush Cup Registration
Held on the Lodge Patio. Participants must be at least 12 years of age. Helmets are required. Rental gear is prohibited.  All participants are required to complete a waiver prior to the event, adults must sign for participants under 18 years old.

2pm: Slush Cup
Ski or ride through a giant pit of icy slush! Day of registration required at the Lodge Patio at least 15-minutes prior to the start time. Helmets are required. Rental gear is prohibited. PLEASE, NO SKI POLES. Participants must be at least 12 years of age. Held at the base of Thor.

Noon - 4pm

Slopeside DJ: Playing your favorite hits at the Crystal Center Patio! 

On-Slope Scavenger Hunt: Find a picture of a Surfboard scattered around the slopes. Bring one back to the Park at Water's Edge for a prize! 

Additional Activities

9am - 5pm: Fat Tire Bike Rental
$20 per hour. Includes helmet and trail pass. Located at the Cross-Country Center.

9am - 5pm: Snowshoe Rental
$15 per hour. Located at the Cross-Country Center. 

10am - 9pm: Ice Skate Rental
$12 per hour. Rentals are located at the Park at Water's Edge.

2pm, 2:45pm, 3:30pm: Archery
$20 per person, ages 7 and up. Reservations required, please call 231-378-2238 or reserve online.

2pm - 5pm: Live Music at the Vista Lounge
Ages 21+.

3pm - 6pm: Glitter Tattoos and Build a Buddy Workshop
$10 per tattoo, $30 per buddy. Held in the Peak Fitness Center Lobby. 

5:30pm: Horse-Drawn Surrey Rides
$15 per person, riders 2 years old and under are free. First ride begins at 5:30pm. Other ride times may be available. Reservations required, please call 231-378-2238 or book online

7pm: Outdoor Laser Tag
$18 per person, ages 6 and up.  First session begins at 7pm. Other times may be available. Reservations required, please call 231-378-2238 or book online.

8pm - 11pm: Live Music at the Vista Lounge
Ages 21+.
