Crystal Mountain and Aevitas Medical are teaming up for the first-ever Longevity Challenge at Crystal Mountain on October 25. This unique event combines adventure with longevity science and is suited for anyone looking to challenge themselves physically and mentally while also learning about their current health status and how to prolong their life.

Inspired by the popularity of rucking (walking with a weighted vest), the Longevity Challenge has two different courses designed to meet different fitness levels. The 6-mile course features both flat and hilly terrain, as well as multiple challenge stations set up by the Aevitas Medical team. The 2-mile course is a 1-mile out-and-back route on mostly flat terrain with at least one challenge station. While the event is ideally suited for rucking, participants are not required to carry a weighted vest. The focus is on completion, learning, and community connection, not speed.
“Whether you're a seasoned athlete or just beginning your wellness journey, this event takes a scalable approach to meet the fitness levels of each individual,” said Spencer Couturier, Co-founder of Aevitas Medical. “Our challenge stations provide real-world assessments of key longevity-oriented assessments and are customizable to each person, giving them valuable insight about their current health status.”
The challenge stations will be focused on functional carrying strength, explosive power through distance jumping or step and reach tests, core stability, balance, and brain-body connection. Each activity station will be led by a longevity medicine expert from Aevitas Medical, allowing participants to ask specific questions about their health and optimization strategies.
Organizers from both Aevitas Medical and Crystal Mountain agree that the Longevity Challenge is a result of a partnership built on shared values and complementary missions.
“This is the perfect event to host at Crystal Mountain because it aligns well with our mission of being a place for exceptional experiences and encouraging people to connect with self, nature, and others, as well as live a healthy, active lifestyle,” said Marcus Matthews, Director of Membership and Resort Activities at Crystal Mountain. “With our diverse terrain and varied elevation, coupled with the beautiful backdrop of the fall colors, this event uniquely showcases wellness, outdoor recreation, and community connection in northern Michigan.”
Registration is open now through October 24 at 7:50pm. The first 150 participants will receive a commemorative beanie, medal, and souvenir bib. Crystal Mountain is offering a 15% lodging discount for participants staying October 23-27, 2025.
