Mountain Ridge Named 2025 Michigan Golf Course of the Year!

The Michigan Golf Course Association (MGCA) has named Mountain Ridge, our signature championship course, the 2025 Michigan Golf Course of the Year! This is a tremendous honor that recognizes not just the quality of the course but the dedication of our entire team, our commitment to community, and the history of the resort.

More Than Just Golf

For 23 consecutive years, Mountain Ridge has proudly hosted the Michigan Women's Open, an event that truly celebrates women’s golf in our state. The MGCA specifically highlighted our commitment to this event, along with the resort's legacy as a family-owned destination, as key reasons for the award.

As our Director of Golf, Mark Fenech, noted, this recognition is a "testament to the dedication of our team and the quality of golf at Crystal Mountain and in Northern Michigan.” This award truly belongs to the talented maintenance crew and every member of the Crystal Mountain family who work to make this place special.

Experience the Best of Northern Michigan

Designed by Michigan-based architect William Newcomb, Mountain Ridge offers a spectacular Northern Michigan golf experience. Golfers navigate dramatic elevation changes, wide fairways framed by towering trees, and signature holes like the par 3 No. 5 featuring an 80-foot drop. The scenic cart path between holes 15 and 16 leads to a breathtaking view over the Betsie River Valley before teeing off on the challenging, and hilly, No. 16. The Mountain Ridge course is equal parts beautiful and fun.

Consider this your invite to come experience exceptional resort golf on the award-winning Mountain Ridge.
