    MI Tri-Share Program

    Crystal Mountain employees may be eligible for the MI Tri-Share Program. This program shares the cost of childcare between the State of Michigan, Crystal Mountain/Traverse City Tourism, and the employee (the employee will only pay 1/3 of the total cost, if eligible).     Crystal Scholarship Foundation

    The Crystal Scholarship Foundation (501c3) was created to provide scholarship opportunities for Crystal Mountain employees and their dependent children. Scholarships worth up to $5,000 toward a university, college or trade school certification program are awarded annually.

    The Crystal Scholarship Foundation searches out candidates through an application and panel interview process who exemplify solid character; strong work ethic; community service and academic proficiency.

    Youth Employment

    Building a career pathway early can benefit you further down the road and the hospitality industry is a great place to start that journey! This expansive industry can provide future opportunities with a variety of companies and businesses. One can learn to hone their communication skills or the importance of multitasking in a quick paced environment. At Crystal Mountain, we welcome minors and college students to start building their skills, experiences and career.

    Minor Employment: Select positions are available for kids over the age of 14 in the following departments - Golf, Outside Maintenance, Food and Beverage, Recreation and Rentals. These eligible jobs are part-time or seasonal to accommodate school schedules, plus state and federal regulations.     Internships: Our leadership team is highly motivated to mentor young talent. Our internship programs are 10-12 weeks, available May through August. As part of our internship program, we provide two additional services to support a well-rounded hospitality experience - the Crystal Career Chat Series and the Crystal Shadowing Days. 

    • Crystal Career Chat Series: Our interns meet with the Executive Committee team members throughout the summer to discuss their experiences and business insights.
    • Crystal Shadowing Days: You will spend a day with a selected Senior Leadership or Management team member to understand the departments daily operations, and to learn additional leadership responsibilities across the resort.

    Opportunities for the upcoming summer season are posted each September.

      Frequently Asked Questions


      How do I apply for a job?

      Our employment application is available online. Please contact Human Resources if you require an accommodation to complete the application: humanresources@crystalmountain.com.

      Please make sure to use an individual email address and not one shared with another person. Additionally, please keep your log in information safe as it can only be reset by you. 

      What if I am already an employee?

      As an employee you can apply through your Dayforce employee portal. After logging in, navigate to the menu icon at the top left corner of your screen and select the Careers menu option, then select "Search Jobs".

      Can I apply for multiple jobs?

      Yes, you can apply to as many positions as you would like to, just keep in mind you might receive follow up calls from multiple hiring managers. 

      Do you hire people to work from home or on hybrid schedules?

      Most of our positions are in person and on property due to the nature of our hospitality services. If a job were to be remote or hybrid it will be specified in the job description.

      Do you hire veterans?

      We are a committed Silver Level Veteran Friendly Employer approved by the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency (MVAA). Each veteran application is taken into individual consideration and a designated person from our administrative team will assist you with your application and onboarding process as well.

      How can a current team member refer me?

      When completing the job application online, you will be asked how you heard about the job. You can select Employee Referral and provide the employee’s name.

      I've applied for a job... Now what?

      Once we receive your online application, the hiring manager of the department will evaluate your application. If you are considered for the position you will be contacted by the hiring manager to set up either a phone or in person interview. If you are not considered for the position you will receive an email notification.

      I've accepted a job offer. What are my next steps?

      First we will complete a Background Check. We use a third party company, HireRight and they will send you an email with a link to initiate your Background Screening. Screens go back 7 years and are assessed based on the job you applied for. Upon receiving your acceptable screening results we will start the online onboarding process via email. Keep an eye on your inbox for a message from Crystal Mountain with instructions on how to activate your Dayforce account, which will be your employee portal. The online onboarding paperwork has three sections: Employment Verification, Personal Forms and Payroll & Tax Forms. Once you have completed all three sections you may call the Human Resources office to set up an appointment at your earliest availability to complete Employment Verification, receive your Employee ID, Nametag and essential information prior to your start date.

      Do you provide housing?

      Limited, temporary, dormitory style housing may be available dependent on prior commitments and capacity. Permanent year-round or permanent seasonal housing is not available through Crystal Mountain.
