Cost

Prize Fee

All league members are required to pay a $30 prize fee at the beginning of the season.  Once all the prize fees have been pooled together, they will be divided equally amongst each week of play (17 weeks).  The top three individuals or teams each week will receive a percentage of that week’s prize pool.

  • First Place = 50%
  • Second Place= 30%
  • Third Place = 20%

Your total earnings for the season will then be loaded onto a gift card and distributed the last week of league play.  The first week and last week of play will be a ‘just for fun’ format with no prize money up for grabs.

Annual Handicap Renewal

All league members are required to have an active GAM/GHIN membership to participate in leagues at Crystal Mountain ($41 annual fee). If you have already renewed for the year with another club, you do not need to renew again with us. To make Crystal Mountain your home course, please visit Golf Association of Michigan to sign up or renew your membership »

Once you have provided us with your GHIN number, the program we use for scoring, Unknown Golf, will post your scores for you each week even if Crystal Mountain is not your ‘home club’.  Note that some of the formats we play will not allow for posting and therefore will not affect your handicap index. Crystal Mountain staff will provide updated handicap indexes and a commitment roster to your league commissioner on a weekly basis.

League Details

Leagues at Crystal Mountain do not require weekly attendance. There is a new format each week. Therefore, if you cannot make it to league on a particular week, you do not need to find a sub. The deadline to commit to playing each week is at 5pm, two days prior to play. For example, if you play on the Tuesday league, you have until 5pm on Sunday to sign up. This allows for pairings and scorecards to be created in a timely manner.

LEAGUE FORMATS

Scramble, Low Putts, Fairways & Greens, Cha-Cha-Cha, Stableford, Vegas, Flags, Shamble, Lone Ranger, Chicago, Luck of the Draw, High Ball/Low Ball, Dream Team, Elite Eight/Sweet Sixteen, Individual Low Net, Beat the Pro, and a Modified Ryder Cup!

Monday Night Skins Game

Join us on Monday evenings at 5pm throughout the season for our Skins Game! The general public, members, and houseguests of all ages are encouraged to participate.

All play will be on the Betsie Valley, alternating between the front and back nine each week.  The weekly cost will reflect the 9-hole league pricing plus a $5 prize fee for skins. You do not need to sign up in advance; just show up by approximately 4:30pm on Monday afternoon to check in and pair up with a foursome.

You are required to have an up-to-date handicap index to participate.  For more information on establishing a handicap index, please visit the Kinlochen Golf Shop in person or contact us over the phone at 231-378-2049. Our professional staff is happy to explain the process to you!

Skins are earned by scoring lower than the rest of the field on a hole.  However, gross scores take precedent over net scores.
