Experience an Unforgettable Summer at Crystal Mountain

May 25, 2023

THOMPSONVILLE, MICH. (May 25, 2023) – Whether you’re looking for exciting events or relaxation this summer, Crystal Mountain is the place to be. This summer’s event calendar is packed with fun activities, festivals, outdoor recreation and opportunities to make memories that will last a lifetime.

Memorial Day Weekend: May 26-29

Kicking off the summer season is the highly anticipated Michigan Beer and Brat Festival. The family-friendly event welcomes more than two dozen Michigan vendors to serve up their best microbrews, wine, hard cider, mead, spirits and bratwursts for an unmatched tasting experience for everyone.

“This is the perfect event to celebrate some of the best flavors Michigan has to offer,” said Michael Trubac, Director of Food and Beverage. “This is the 16th year for the event and it has come a long way from what started as just three booths in one of our parking lots. Now we have dozens of vendors, live entertainment and hundreds of people coming together for the first big, outdoor event of the season.”

In addition to several returning vendors, including Bell’s Brewery, Blake’s Hard Cider and Black Star Farms, there will be three new places to try – Wise Men Distillery, Fresh Coast Beer Works and FUL Beverage – the first non-alcoholic vendor to be featured at the Michigan Beer and Brat Festival.

Tickets to this Saturday’s event are available online until 11:59 p.m. Friday or at the event for $50. Be sure to check out the long list of other Memorial Day weekend activities including golf, the adventure course, outdoor pool party, alpine slide rides and the opening of the downhill mountain biking trails.

Bike Benzie Tour: June 3

For those seeking an adrenaline rush, the Bike Benzie Tour promises an unforgettable, scenic journey through Benzie County. Cyclists of all skill levels can choose to ride the 28-, 42- or 62-mile route, each starting and finishing at Crystal Mountain with at least one food stop along the way. Afterwards, participants and spectators are invited to the After Tour Party.

“This is a wonderful event showcasing the natural beauty of Benzie County, and it raises money for an awesome organization,” said Marcus Matthews, Director of Membership and Recreation. “The Benzie Sunrise Rotary Club is instrumental in supporting the community with educational programs, local food banks and various programs in Grand Traverse, Leelanau, Antrim, Manistee and Benzie counties.”

Registration is open until the event on June 3.

Total Archery Challenge: June 9-11

Next month, more than 2,000 archers will gather at Crystal Mountain for the largest 3D archery event in the nation. The Total Archery Challenge consists of several different courses spread out across Crystal’s 1500-acre property featuring 100+ 3D targets simulating real-life hunting scenarios. Spectators are welcome to watch the participants and can browse through vendor village where dozens of outdoor recreation companies will showcase a wide variety of outdoor gear.
